2nd Annual Arkansas Week for the Animals kicks off October 15-23, 2011. The Calendar of Events page will detail events taking place across Arkansas during this amazing Arkansas Week for the Animals.

Throughout the week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting other wonderful animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Arkansas will be joining in as well, each planning activities to celebrate and help animals.
Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, shelter days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, activities for the animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and nursing homes.
Also to be included are a salute to our canine military and police dogs, special youth programs, blessings for the animals, and fun-filled fall festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals!
Become Involved! Events are being planned now, and we need animal lovers everywhere in Arkansas to start planning so they can participate! See the page "Become Involved" on this website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do in your community.
