Feline Friends Adoption Days

Petsmart
2203 Promenade Blvd
Rogers, Arkansas 72758

Feline Friends is a non-profit, all volunteer rescue organization in Northwest Arkansas. We are focused on helping the forgotten ones, the stray cats that cannot find a home or family. 479-274-0430 (Please Leave A Message)
Email info@felinefriendsnwa.org   They will be there on Sunday too from 10-6.

Mission
To help as many cats in our area as possible. Did you know?.. spaying and neutering just 1 male cat can save on an average of 6 other cat lives! Preventing unwanted babies is one of the primary ways to save the lives of so many animals. Simply caring for stray cats is great, but not enough. And the forgotten ones, the wild, feral, cats, who every one gives up on, they have a home with us.
General Information
We are dedicated to helping provide a home for the kitties unfortunate enough to either be born wild, or dumped off somewhere and lack the taming ability to find a foster home. We take cats from shelters, people, vets, and other organizations. We partner with Fabulous Felines NWA who takes the adoptable cats/kittens and gives them a home.Website is  http://www.felinefriendsnwa.org/

Pugfest is a fun, off-leash event for Pugs, Small Canine Friends and their Humans. You can meet foster pugs available for adoption with an approved application.

We are a devoted group of people who appreciate the uniqueness of a pug. Their motto is “A lot of Dog in a Small Space”. We understand their special challenges, their medical problems and know that they are not the right dog for every family. They shed, they snore, they sneeze and they are prone to eye injuries. They also snuggle and love their humans with all that they have.

These interactions often result in reduced anxiety, reduced pain, and a more positive outlook on the hospital experience. With doctor’s orders and parent approval, Child Life Specialists arrange for these special visitors at the patient’s bedside.

Harrison, AR 72601

We are a non-profit hedgehog rescue. We take in unwanted hedgehogs regardless of the situation and provide them with rehabilitation, medical care and lots of love. We sometimes drive hundreds of miles to pick these hedgehogs up and in 2006 we were very busy rescuing hedgies in Louisiana, Memphis and here in Arkansas. We accept donations, whether it be bedding, food, five gallon buckets, cash, etc to help fund the rescue.

We have been official rescuers through the Hedgehog Welfare Society for over five years and more recently through the International Hedgehog Association and the hedgehog Breeders Association. We are the only official hedgehog rescue in the state of Arkansas. Phone: 870-429-6652  Email  cgibbany@yahoo.com

Lonoke County Search and Rescue K9 Unit

Lonoke County Search and Rescue K9 Unit is an all volunteer 501c3 charity organization.  We formed as a Unit in 2004 and became a 501c3 organization in 2010.  All necessary training, certifications and equipment are paid for by each volunteer.  We will hold fundraising activities to support our goals to lessen the burden on each volunteer.

Lonoke County Seearch and Rescue K9 Unit personnel give safety talks, Lost but Found Safe, to primary school children and children in summer library programs.  We were invited this year and spoke on K9 SAR at the Arkansas Attorney Generals Law Enforcement Summit.  The Attorney General's office also invited us to partake in his annual Children's Safety day and to attend his Missing Childrens ceremony May 2009 and 2010. We have trained with the local FBI at their request.

We are currently working with a K9 Master Trainer, a 6 month program for the K9's to learn how to find drowned persons at a cost of around $14,000.00.  We traveled to the east coast to train under Joe Canfield, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children K9 Director and regularly travel to Texas for our Bloodhounds to continue training in Scent Discrimination Man Trailing.

We travel the State of Arkansas on rescue missions and plan on continuing to educate our citizens, participate and respond to search and rescue/recovery missions when requested.

Little Rock Zoo Alligator Feedings

Little Rock Zoo
1 Zoo Dr
Little Rock, AR 72205

Dare to feed the alligators! American alligators live in freshwater environments, such as ponds, marshes, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and swamps, as well as in brackish environments.  When they construct gator holes in the wetlands, they increase plant diversity and also provide habitat for other animals during drought periods.  They are therefore considered an important species for maintaining ecological diversity in wetlands.

The Little Rock Zoo Education Department offers several on-site animal education programs. These programs are typically performed at the Civitan Amphitheatre. During one of our special animal programs, your group will get an up-close look at some of our education animals, many of which are not on exhibit to the general public. This special program is entertaining for children and adults alike and can be suited to the appropriate age group.  Visit http://www.littlerockzoo.com/

A Prayer for the Animals

~An Official Arkansas Week for the Animals event~

Join  those of us who would like to observe a moment of prayer and/or moment of meditation for the precious animals. We are requesting this, if possible, from 5-6 pm Central time Sunday, October 27, 2013.
This is a multi-faith observance.

We can offer prayers, poems and memorials to our animal, pet or all animals wherever we are and even light a candle by doing so.Wherever you are, if you can observe a moment for the animals who need us...that collective energy will surely grow and bring light to our cause to love, assist and help them from any and all suffering.
