Theresa Driver is a Licensed Professional Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist. "I have specialized training using dogs and horses in my therapy sessions. When young children have problems, they aren't yet emotionally equipped to sit down and tell you or a therapist what is bothering them, but they can tell a trained therapist what is wrong through their play. In a play therapy room, equipped with specific toys and designed to make a child feel safe and secure, many feelings can be expressed through play.

Animal Assisted Play Therapy is a unique type of therapy combining Play Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy. In certain situations, using a dog in a therapy session can assist a child in feeling more relaxed and comfortable.
The Unbridled Journey provides equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP), a powerful and effective therapy that has a profound impact on individuals, families, and children. Participants learns about themselves and their relationship with others by participating in activities with horses and then discussing feelings, behaviors, and patterns revealed in the session. Lonoke County Search and Rescue K9 Unit

Lonoke County Search and Rescue K9 Unit is an all volunteer 501c3 charity organization.  We formed as a Unit in 2004 and became a 501c3 organization in 2010.  All necessary training, certifications and equipment are paid for by each volunteer.  We will hold fundraising activities to support our goals to lessen the burden on each volunteer.

Lonoke County Seearch and Rescue K9 Unit personnel give safety talks, Lost but Found Safe, to primary school children and children in summer library programs.  We were invited this year and spoke on K9 SAR at the Arkansas Attorney Generals Law Enforcement Summit.  The Attorney General's office also invited us to partake in his annual Children's Safety day and to attend his Missing Childrens ceremony May 2009 and 2010. We have trained with the local FBI at their request.

We are currently working with a K9 Master Trainer, a 6 month program for the K9's to learn how to find drowned persons at a cost of around $14,000.00.  We traveled to the east coast to train under Joe Canfield, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children K9 Director and regularly travel to Texas for our Bloodhounds to continue training in Scent Discrimination Man Trailing.

We travel the State of Arkansas on rescue missions and plan on continuing to educate our citizens, participate and respond to search and rescue/recovery missions when requested.

Little Rock Zoo Alligator Feedings

Little Rock Zoo
1 Zoo Dr       Little Rock, AR 72205

Dare to feed the alligators! American alligators live in freshwater environments, such as ponds, marshes, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and swamps, as well as in brackish environments.  When they construct gator holes in the wetlands, they increase plant diversity and also provide habitat for other animals during drought periods.  They are therefore considered an important species for maintaining ecological diversity in wetlands.

The Little Rock Zoo Education Department offers several on-site animal education programs. These programs are typically performed at the Civitan Amphitheatre. During one of our special animal programs, your group will get an up-close look at some of our education animals, many of which are not on exhibit to the general public. This special program is entertaining for children and adults alike and can be suited to the appropriate age group.  Visit http://www.littlerockzoo.com/
